Based in the Trawsfynydd area, the team covers the Rhinogs, Arenig and Moelwyn mountains. A remote diverse set of mountains which attract hill goers searching for solitude. More recently it has also attracted mountain bikers looking to test their skills on some of the most demanding courses in the UK. Dealing with up to 50 callouts a year, this area has seen an increase in callout related to the Snowdonia adventure initiative.
South Snowdonia Search & Rescue (SSSART) is a registered charity that operates in North West Wales and the Snowdonia area. We are a group of approximately 25 volunteers who help the police by looking for vulnerable people who are missing from home or those in need of rescue. If you out hiking in the hill remember to keep safe. We have put together some tips on keeping safe in snowdonia. We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
